The Windhoek Municipality has earmarked 25 hectares, comprising 227 erven, for the establishment of a new township within the city, to be named Rocky Crest Extension 8.
This initiative by the City of Windhoek aims to address the increasing demand for urban housing and related amenities.
Rocky Crest Extension 8 is located south of the existing Rocky Crest township, along the eastern boundary of Otjomuise Road and the northwestern boundary of Bernt Carlson Road.
With Namibia’s urban centres experiencing rapid growth, this development introduces a mixed land-use concept, allowing people to both live and work in the same area.
The growth of urban centres in Namibia presents a significant challenge for local authorities in providing serviced land for housing, and Windhoek is no exception.
