The latest Tourism Satellite Account Report of 2022 sheds light on the employment landscape within Namibia’s tourism sector, indicating a significant role played by accommodation services in job creation.

According to the report, accommodation services for visitors in the tourism sector have emerged as the primary source of direct employment, contributing 49.2% of total employment.

In contrast, food and beverage serving services account for 30.4%, while travel agencies and other reservation industries lag behind, representing only 0.3% of direct employment.

The tourism-related industries collectively employed an estimated 57,571 individuals directly, constituting 7.9% of total employment in the country.
