Namibia imported goods worth N$136.9 billion in 2023, marking an increase of N$7.9 billion compared to 2022, as reported by the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA).
In December 2023, the country’s imports stood at N$11.8 billion, reflecting a 25.0% decrease month-on-month and a 9.9% year-on-year increase.
South Africa retained its position as Namibia’s primary source of imports for the year, contributing 38.6% of the total imports.
In December, South Africa accounted for 33.6% of total imports into Namibia, followed by India at 10.8%.
China, Oman, and the United States of America also featured among Namibia’s top five import markets.
