Civil servants will receive a 5% salary increment among other benefits as from April next year.
This is part of the recent agreement between the government and two trade unions representing government workers – the Namibia National Teachers Union (NANTU) and Namibia Public Workers Union (NAPWU) – announced yesterday.

The agreement entails a flat increase of N$600 per month for staff members on the grade 15 and 14 salary scale. Staff members on grades 13 to 1 will receive a 5% increase on their basic salary.
Additionally, civil servants’ housing allowance has also been adjusted, effective October 1, 2023.
According to the agreement signed yesterday, staff members below the management cadre will get a 20% increase in housing allowance as well as a 20% increase in transport allowance effective from April 1, 2023.
