Namibia’s hospitality sector witnessed a 4% month-on-month decline in occupancy rates, dropping from 69% in August 2023 to 65% in September.
August had marked the highest occupancy rates since the last pre-pandemic peak of 69.9%.
According to research conducted by the Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN) and economists from High Economic Intelligence (HEI), the northern region of the country boasted the highest occupancy rate at 68.9% for September 2023, followed by the central region at 66%.
This marked the second consecutive month that the northern region led the country in occupancy rates.
