THE United Nations resident coordinator for Namibia, Hopolang Phororo, has expressed serious concerns that the world is lagging behind in achieving
the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The word has seven years left before the 2030 deadline.Of particular concern is the ‘Zero Hunger’ goal, which has seen slow progress.
“We need then to accelerate the pace we are currently moving at in order to touch that goal,” he said.
Speaking at the launch of the Feast Initiative on World Food Day Commemoration in Windhoek, Phororo highlighted the urgency of the situation adding that there is a need to find means to deal with the issue of food security.
