President Hage Geingob has called on South African businesses operating in Namibia to invest in the value chain with the aim to achieve balanced and sustainable trade relations.

Geingob made this call during his speech at the Namibia-South Africa Business Forum, which was conducted on the sidelines of the third session of the Namibia-South Africa Bi-National Commission in Windhoek.

Namibia has so far made substantial investments exceeding N$67 billion in South Africa’s financial markets.

Notably, statistics for 2022 indicate that trade between South Africa and Namibia was valued at USD 4.8 billion (N$91 billion).

South Africa primarily exports manufactured goods to Namibia, while Namibia’s key exports include minerals, live animals, beverages, fish, and prepared cereals.
