The Principal of Ella Du Plessis Secondary School, Jakavaza Kavari, has stated that the school requires an estimated N$5 to N$10 million for the restoration of a hostel block that was destroyed by a fire on Wednesday.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and the school’s management is yet to confirm the exact reason behind the outbreak.
Kavari noted that the destroyed block was old and constructed from prefabricated materials, expressing uncertainty about whether renovating the existing structure would be sufficient.
According to him, the school would prefer to have new blocks constructed from scratch as opposed to renovating the damaged ones.
