1. City of Windhoek mayor Sade Gawanas, at a press conference revealed that the city council is divided.

2. Former health minister Bernard Haufiku says that despite monkeypox’s uncertain trajectory, the disease is reported to be largely confined to homosexuals.

3. Chairperson of the Kunene region Youth Forum Tuakoveni Mocks Kenaumue says that entry-level jobs should be reserved for the locals, arguing that these don’t require qualifications and, in turn, might help in curbing the high unemployment rate in the region.

4. Environment and tourism minister Pohamba Shifeta says there was a 40.9 per cent increase in foreign arrivals, from 192,026 arrivals in 2020 to 270,644 arrivals in 2021.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Gender Equality, Social Development and Family Affairs workshop on Gender Based Violence in collaboration with SADC has just been officially opened by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Loide Kasingo.
