1. The Teachers Union of Namibia (TUN) secretary-general Mahongora Kavihuha says the union is in the process of mobilising teachers to down tools and demand a salary increment.
The negotiations regarding teachers’ salary increments reached a deadlock resulting in the union now giving government an ultimatum for teachers’ salaries.
2. Human rights activist Linda Baumann has questioned whether male lawmakers in the National Assembly read the laws they make.
3. The Chief Development Officer for Marginalised Communities in the Office of the Vice President, Rebecca Namwandi, has allegedly shut out marginalised students.
Students who spoke to Eagle FM claim that she told them her office is not a “Soup Kitchen, nor is her car for ‘public transportation.”
Students complain about not having food to eat or money for transport to institutions after not receiving their monthly income for the past six months.
