STATE MEMORIAL SERVICE | Mourners described Hon. Ignatius Shixwameni as a principled leader who sacrificed his youth to fight against the apartheid education system and for the liberation of Namibia. Shixwameni served as the President of Nanso before independence.
President Dr Hage Geingob in a speech read on his behalf by the Prime Minister described Shixwameni as a patriot who used education as weapon to free Namibia.
Geingob further recognised the former student leader’s contribution to his community and parliament, describing it as remarkable.
The President of the All People’s Party will be laid to rest tomorrow at the Sarusungu cemetery.
